I love to dehydrate my own dried fruit, for this recipe using a excalibur dehydrator I dried apples and bananas slices overnight, so I could have them ready next morning for my granola breakfast bowl.
I prefer to dehydrate my own dried fruit because that way I know or can control the temperature involved when drying (40º C – 110º F to be raw). Sometimes dried fruit sale at health food stores have added sugar or preservatives that I always avoid at all costs. Nowadays it is easy to find organic dried fruits: apple rings and sundried banana slices, so no worries I’ve got you covered!
